Greetings from Florida

I just flew into West Palm Beach, FL for a 2.5 day business trip. Believe it or not, after all the traveling I did with the airlines and on my own, I've only been to Florida 1 time prior to this trip - and that was only in January 2005 when I was in Orlando for the International Builders Show.

So I am in West Palm today, then I drive to Ft. Myers tomorrow for a dinner meeting and a presentation that I will give. It should be pretty cool since I will get to see what the landscape looks like down here - though Mr. M said that it is nothing to write home about after the first five minutes of driving on the interstate built in the middle of an enormous swamp... but still - it ain't the office! And besides, the weather here is actually LESS humid than DC - crazy. I also get to give a presentation basically showing off all the work I have done in a year's time. Sometimes I get down on myself b/c I feel like I am spinning my wheels and not doing anything. But in fact (and this is timely since I need to do my self-evalutation for my annual review) I've done a LOT. So much so they wanted me to come down here to present in person. After adding up all that I have done it is pretty impressive. I have secured amazing media placements worth at least $50K, gotten additional funding from outside sources, increased our press release and media pickups in the trade press, improved the quality of writing in our magazine etc etc etc... I better get a good review. Hopefully someone out there will see my resume and want to hire me asap! I could do some amazing things at a new job where they put my talent to work!
