Nobody walks in LA - but do they take the metro?

Ok so me and the Channel7 just finished watching The Italian Job. It was an OK flick but it brings about a question. They had a fabulous chase scene through the drainage gullets of LA and then a zippy drive through LA's metro. But if nobody walks in LA, does anyone really take Metro? Does it even go anywhere? I've never even seen it in the couple times I've been there.

Inquiring minds want to know. I'll be surprised if my stereotypical view of auto-phile, public transit-phobic Los Angelians (or whatever you call them) is wrong. Prove it to me blog-o-sphere, go ahead and prove it - I dare you!

(Ok so I have a little distaste for La-la land. It's not for the peeps I know there, they are making it better! But still they make lil pups sick - bad LA bad!)

They have a metro here? I've been here 3 months and didn't even know....

Thanks, Tos! I'll look into it.

It's a Metro to nowhere!

The smart thing would have been to have one line go down Santa Monica Blvd, another line to follow La Brea, maybe even (shock horror) connect to the airports!

I've only been here 2 months and I could have planned a better and usable system!

The metro is great if you work downtown and live anywhere but the west side.
The main reason they haven't built anything out to the ocean is 'cause Beverly Hills is right there in the middle and doesn't want the disruption.

But yeah, I'm with you, aside from buses, there ain't anything here as far as public transportation goes.
