OH HELL NO! Stop 'Ronald Reagan Boulevard' in DC
Proposal to Rename 16th Street as 'Ronald Reagan Boulevard'

NO NO NO a hundred times NO! If you don't live in a place where you have no vote (though I'm writing Eleanor!) please call, email or fax your Congressman http://www.house.gov/ if you don't have it on speed dial on your phone!
That man has way too much already. Building, battleships, an airport (it was always be National to me!) and god knows what else. But it is an affort to our GLBT brothers and sisters who live on the street which cuts right through the gayest hood in town. The man who has more blood on his hands which stems from how he ignored the AIDS epidemic for SEVEN years (widely assumed b/c of his thoughts based on the stereotype that AIDS was a 'gay flu') should NOT be honoured in this manner or any for that matter. It is a disgusting affront for the GLBT citizens of DC who need not be reminded how Reagan helped to entrench discrimination against them in one of the worst regime's in our country's history.
Call now, operators are standing by!

Just look at it as another reason to take a piss on 16th St.

I like Ronald Regan - he did a lot for this country. Hindsight is 20/20 - give him a break.

Hindsight? Hard to ignore something that was on the cover of every major magazine and newspaper at least once during a 7 year period.
Ask a minority if they think Reagan is the "sweet, lovable" old man people portray him as. Rich white people will forever love the man who put more money in their pockets and looked so damn charming while doing it. Awww
Ok I take that back. You're right. Hindsight IS 20/20. Ronnie can 16th street if Clinton can have Pennsylvania Avenue. Hindsight is a bitch ain't it!
