Smart Casual Part Poo err I mean Two
So dinner was faboo. The food was quite tasty and nicely arranged. Though my boo's salad was a lil too decorative from the look and light on the contents. It was like some baby greens and sprouts wrapped in a cucumber sliver with 3 cherry tomato slices on the side with some drizzled dressing. I think it was 3 bites worth of food total. Oh well. We both got NY Strip steaks which were excellent - cooked well and a good size considering it was a special menu. Dessert was excellent, I had this chocolate martini creme thing which had ice cream, a cream sauce, some sort of thick mousse - it was yummy. Boo had a coconut cake with mango and bananas that were marinated in liquor - yum. So we had fun. The atmosphere was very sleek and trendy which was nice - though the lighting was quite odd, it kept going up to bright, down to very dark and not in a good way. I may write a note to them, I was kindof annoyed by that and the waiter's hovering. I did feel like we were on the "econo" menu and they seemed to treat us as such. I ordered a $60 bottle of wine for the 5 of us to share (worked out to be cheaper than the $15 a GLASS wine) and then he pestered me to order more. It was just a lil much but I guess that comes with the territory. I will stick to my cheapo places with more friendly service and less pretense. All in all a very good time though :-) HOWEVER
They are getting an angry letter. Smart casual apparently meant, hotel guests could come in shorts and t-shirts. Some large man was almost busting out of his red polo shirt and khaki shorts and boat shoes. Smart casual? Uh wrong ansa! The waitstaff didn't seem to badger them too much but they were eating off the regular menu - oh I see how it goes...
