69 Things About Me

So I've seen this on a bunch of blogs and thought I would do my own since I am procrastinating and not doing all the 9 million things on my to-do list.

This seems a lot like the movie Amelie.

1. I am of Italian, Polish, Alsatian, English and Irish descent (the 1st 3 make up the majority)
2. I am from the Bay State
3. I do not have that accent
4. I speak several foreign languages:
5. Japanese
6. French
7. Spanish
8. Italian
9. I will take Dutch (Flemish) classes this fall
10. I want to learn Brasilian Portuguese
11. I speak some German but it bores me
12. I have no had cable in more than 3 years
13. I am happy about it
14. I am cheap with some things and extravagant with others
15. I love a bargain
16. Frequent flier miles are addicting and I collect them like crazy
17. I fly United the most b/c of Channel 9 (Air Traffic Control chatter)
18. I actually like Quebecois French
19. The first foreign country I visited was Canada
20. I love Canada and want to live there some day
21. I love the Canadian flag and how proud they are of it
22. I have been to Mexico once (Cancun)
23. I have been to Guam for vacation
24. I have never had Ceviche but I have had Kelaguen
25. I dislike bagpipe music
26. I like single-malt Scotch in the winter
27. I drink wine like water
28. I love Cabernet Sauvignon & Old Vine Zinfandel the most
29. I despise Riesling, Auslese, Liebfraumilch and Spatlese
30. California-style Chardonnay is ok by me; French style is not
31. Australian Shiraz is the best in the world
32. Syrah is not the same as Shiraz in my book
33. Dessert wine doesn't interest me
34. Unless it is Vin Santo & little amaretto cookies with big sugar crystals on them
35. Sherry is not dessert wine; I like it better than Port
36. I have actually been to Jerez de la Frontera (where they make Sherry)
37. Spain is probably my favorite country in the world so far
38. Castillian Spanish is sexy and fun; it is my favorite
39. Argentine Spanish is annoying and forced, I dislike it and the accompanying "We are NOT latinos" attitude
40. My favorite place for a simple meal in the entire world is the Museo del Jamon
41. If I was to be executed I would request to be flown there for: un boccadillo del jamon, un cafe con leche, una cana y chorizos - that would be heaven, i would eat it standing up at the bar
42. I love the Spanish way of life and its wonderful pace
43. I want to live there too.
44. I want to dance in the streets all night long without worry of working the next day
45. I'm gay and out for more than 3 years now

64. I wish I was blond and blue-eyed
65. I tried the platinum hair thing and loved it but it was too $$$ and ultimately not me, but fun regardless
66. I have not 1 best friend, but two and they are a couple of 10 + years
67. One of my favorite things to do is either have sushi or beers outside in the summer with my best friend Dbud
68. One of my other favourite things is to go to Amsterdam with my other best friend Mr. Mthe one in the red hat - I hope we go every year now!
