Kanye is Right! - See the video NBC doesn't want you to see!

Update: Two examples (and I'm sure there are more) of exactly what he was talking about... I don't want to hear any kvetching about the "race card" or "race-baiting" wah wah wah... Most of the people using those words are part of the problem - mention race and suddenly you're playing a card - BS! Thoughtful debate and discussion made this country great and the "debate deficit" has grown huge in the last 6 years... So just, look, think and discuss and thanks to Miss Big-n-Sexy & Truth in Taylor for the example!

I have to give props to Kanye West for speaking his (great article about it in the Washington Post) about the relief effort (and for an end to gay bashing in rap music and beyond) and saying the things nobody has been willing to say. I really have to agree that the outcome would be VERY different if a hurricaine had destroyed a majority "white" city. I know I will be fought tooth and nail on this by every conservative out there - but wake up, every major news network out there has been dancing around the issue for the last couple of days and finally someone came out and said it in the frank, candid manner most Americans can only understand.

"I hate the way they portray us in the media. If you see a black family, it says they're looting. See a white family, it says they're looking for food." West said.

Additionally I love the way the NBC was totally caught with their pants down - will it be included in next week's NBC Special? Somehow I doubt it - since they have been censoring it... Great fiery write-up from an indie mag is here: Kanye West is my Hero

The video of Kanye West is here - you can tell it was something unscripted and from the heart. He is not the most eloquent speaker in the world but at least he's genuine and takes ownership for his thoughts and actions! Especially where he notes that he had been shopping and would be a hyprocrite b/c he hadn't given anything. Now that is what I call having some CAJONES.

Too bad the President couldn't swallow his pride and say he SCREWED UP BIGTIME - instead he will continue to pat himself on the back and say he's doing whatever he can. Yeah right. This will be his undoing, he really did it this time. America took 5 days to respond and Americans died - even these wacko idiot conservatives can't dodge that!

(P.S. I love the site I found the video on - http://www.crooksandliars.com/!)

I was actually watching the fundraiser when Kanye spoke his mind as it aired live on the east coast. I'm not sure I agree with him, though. I get so very tired of the race card being played at every opportunity. I don't see it as much of a race issue as a wealth issue. Bush and his business cronies are clearly insensitive to the needs of the poor. I simply think their insensitivity goes beyond color and simply looks at dollar signs. After all .. he does have quite a few minorities in his administration. They are simply rich ones.
