Let's talk about sex - Or not - Or why these idiot Xtian groups should just get laid

Here's an interesting article about sex (or not!) in USA TODAY...

Awwwww ain't that great? I think we should all 'coo' and 'ooh' and 'ahh' now. I'm sure a large swath of Americans are reading the article thinking "Well it's about time some of these teenagers got some morals!" or "I'm sure my granddaughter is in one of those groups - they're the real heroes." Blah Blah Blah.

I suppose I am supposed to say something like "Hey I think abstinence is great if it is right for you" or "To each his own" or something to make me not look like a total insensitive jerk.... Ok so there you go. But here's my other thought...

Who cares?! If you want to waste your life "waiting" for the one - go ahead. If it is part of your religion hey fine go with it. But for the rest of us out there - give it a rest.

I'm so sick of hearing about all these abstinence groups (esp. when it's coming from the Pres. or one of his administration "church" cronies). All they end up communicating is that sex is "BAD" or "HARMFUL" or "EVIL" - just for the sake of sex itself. It's not. Sex has consequences and yes it can have life-altering or life-ending consequences. But done right it's awesome, it's not bad and it's very HEALTHY.

These people have every right to their opinions and the right to form their lil groups.... However people need to quit trying to make the rest of us either feel guilty or look bad b/c we're doing "it"!

I like sex... a lot. Ok more than most. Ok I am a complete hornball. But I'm responsible, risk-averse, mindful and I'm an adult about it. IMHO it's not bad at all - in fact, if people had more sex there would definitely be less crime and depression (natural prozac!) Look at countries were sex is not TABOO like here in the US, Iraq, Iran etc... You think the low crime, high happiness rate and progressive and easy-going attitudes are just from the dope in the Nederlands? ;-P

Shack up with someone of quality (and preferably love, like etc) - and just feel good. Or joint a group, TCOB until you chafe, snap and go completely crazy which will invariably scare away anyone who'd want to be with you anyway... You're screwed either way - might as well get screwed the right way :-P
