Ahhh I'm so glad I left!
So many of you enjoyed (sic) the comedy that was my old nightmare - err I mean job. I'm going to spare the nasty abuse and torture stories we're sick of reading (and I'm sick of thinking about) and fast foward to the present day - where I am in fact, happy, healthy and doing well. Now that I am in a good place I can LAUGH and smile about this email I got from a friend. Basically she sent an email to my old email address and my boss has been reading all the emails sent there (I almost never use company email for personal stuff so I ain't worried):
"So after reading the email (which by the way was a big ass farting [joke email] so I hope that he opened it) he sends [office manager] an email and tells them to tell me to delete TOS' email from my account. That [insert some choice words] could not even email me himself - he had to email[office manager] to tell me. Them he proceeds to tell [hr] (which you know told [office manager]) that "all TOS must have been doing is looking at emails from [my friend/former co-worker]."
I hope he really thinks this. BC knowing him he'll make some jerk-ass comment to some group at the wrong time and end up looking stupid. The guy is such a jerk he can't even give me the smallest credit for the year I worked there... he even knows how well received I was with our clients... especially considering he forwarded an email to me after I left, from someone from the Board of Directors (a bigwig and important member in the organization):
[TOS]:
I’m sorry to see you go but I wish you the very best. You are a sharp guy and will do well whenever and whereever. Call me if I can ever help you out. What type of degree are you pursuing?
My Best,
Important Guy
Ironic isn't it? Just goes to show you how much my old boss is HATING life now that I've moved onto a job where I won't be mistreated or abused. I'm grinning ear-to-ear knowing that not only do they not have enough staff (fired 2 people & I'm gone too) but also they can't find anyone to take my old job! (Apparently most people never call them back after they actually interview there - don't be like me - if you go and the office sucks, don't think it can improve - see Maya Angelou's quote above!)
So yes - I'm a smilin' guy. And my new boss also knows I have a life outside of work and even he takes personal calls, emails etc during the day. Ahhhhhhhhh I'm so much better off! :-)
