Bajan eye candy

I was chatting with some of the grad students who work for me today. They are all under a lot of stress b/c of finals that are quickly approaching, applying for residencies etc and add to that all the holiday muck. Someone said that she wanted to just get on the next plane to the islands. A nice thought - which reminded me, I was in the Caribbean exactly this time (to the day in fact) last year. Of course this got me thinking as I was searching (in vain) for cheap flights home for T-giving. This is bad b/c I had to stop myself from seeing what the fares were to Barbados (where I went last year). Barbados is absolutely gorgeous and I wheeled and dealed my way to this incredible resort I'd not normally be able to afford (35% off until Dec. 16, 2005 - the discount has been in effect for a year as they renovate - though it was impossible to notice any construction, it was a great discount without any inconvenience). What an amazing resort, luxury but not in the snooty sense, nor in the plush comfort sense - the facilities were very nice, clean and spacious but the view - ah the view... I could go back at any time. I even called in sick (from Barbados!) so that we could stay an extra day (it rained 1 of the 2.5 days we were actually there) - it was well worth it. Feast your eyes on some sun-soaked color - it is hard this time of year b/c it is so dark out, I can't help but wish I could kidnap my boo and jet off to the islands... Ahhhhhhh. Enjoy.
