I am thankful for...

Not a meme but I am going to treat it as such. I really liked this post on Blah Blah Black Sheep so I am going to copy a number of his thoughts and add my own... enjoy if you care to do so. -- TOS

I am thankful... by TOS

I am thankful that I am gay.
I am thankful for my family - even if we drive each other nuts from time to time.
I am thankful for my close friends, my new friends, my old friends and those yet to come.
I am thankful for my special someone who keeps me laughing, smiling, grinning evil-y and all kinds of other things.
I am thankful I took some risks in the past year and ended up with my condo, my boo and a neat new job with tuition benefits.
I am thankful for losing someone whom I thought was one of my closest friends - it made me appreciate the real friends and people in my life. I am indeed truly thankful for having my eyes opened - even if for the pain and sadness back then.
I am thankful for a job that keeps me interested just enough without taking over my life.
I am thankful for Dutch language classes, the cheap price and the fun I am having learning a "useless" language.
I am thankful as always for Trader Joe's wines, neat food and the friends I still maintain there.
I am thankful for my USA TODAY compatriots whom have become some of my closest friends and homogirls.
I am thankful that I know poets and artists and musicians and djs and writers and lawyers.
I am thankful for a condo in the coolest neighborhood in DC (U Street - Shaw corrdior!)
I am thankful that I am getting more organized at home.
I am thankful for my shrink, my ADD meds and my intense will, desire and progress in reversing (ever so slowly) the severe attention defecit disorder diagnosed almost a year ago.
I am thankful for not blowing myself and my neighbors up when trying to light the pilot light on my gas fireplace (which I am thankful for as well!)
I am thankful for the kindness of the people in my life, kind strangers and for the folks who accept me as I am and also me to do the same of them.
I am thankful for being diligent with my finances and frequent flier miles.
I am thankful for my wanderlust, using the miles to pacify it and for finally having someone to share them with!
I am thankful people think I have interesting things to say every now and then.
I am thankful for the diligence in keeping my 1st ever journal/blog/whatever that lasted more than 2 entries.
I am thankful I have a place to say them.
And yes, I am thankful for being gay - tough as it can be - b/c it gives me the chance to be the real me, without the worry of excessive social convention or rules!
I am thankful for being different, weird, a dork, a goof, a hornball, a sap, sensitive, frenetic, overexurberant, spontaneous, thrify, brave, clean and reverent (sometimes) - these qualities for better or for worse remind me (and I'm sure...) and those around me - that we are alive.
