Lil crumbs from Medford
Howdy from Medford, MA - my hometown. I've been up since 6am when my brother set-off the alarm system by accident - somehow I'm still awake and doing lots of chores for my mom. I've already been to the airport (drop brother off), Dunkies (of course!), the cemetery to see Dad (actually once of the nicest around - it was quiet and peaceful at 6:45am), the liquor store, the bank and finally Staples.
Now I'm sitting here doing some practical and financial things for mama and the family. That is my role. I am the oldest child and also the practical one. My brother is the artist & visionary type, my sister is the popular/social type/baby of the family and I am the practical workhorse type. It's been especially rough since my Dad passed - I find myself taking on more and more of his tasks. It can be hard sometimes b/c I am in DC and doing things over the phone with mama can be trying. The last couple of trips it has been better though as we going through the mountain of stuff in this house (my Dad was a historian and therefore a packrat) and try to sort, trash and consolidate all the paperwork floating around here. So I'm going to try to get as much done as possible so that I can chill out later and then get up at 4:30 to go to the airport for my 5:30am flight that boards at 5:00am (UGH!!! plus I think I mentioned it is both not direct - via PHL - and to BWI - thank god the boo is kindly coming to pick me up @ 9am - he's the best, I miss him even though it's been only a couple of days... when you really like someone absence indeed makes the heart grow fonder - though I don't know how much bigger it can grow before it bursts out of my chest! :-) so that is me right now. Things are good here, just COLD! It was 21 degrees at 6am... thankfully it is now in the upper 30s - ah Boston!
Some other lil tidbits -
Happy Birthday Sparky:
Nov. 26, 1922: Charles Monroe Schulz (creator of Peanuts ) was born in Minneapolis as the only child of Dena and Carl Schulz, a hard-working St. Paul barber. An uncle nicknamed him “Sparky” after Sparkplug, a horse in the Barney Googlecomic strip. (Note: when I get a beagle I will be naming him 'Sparky' in honor my favorite cartoon beagle :-)
Gag! This scares me...
I had no idea this could happen in my very Italian-American city... Please note: Olive Garden is NOT Italian food - or even Italian-American food even on its best day... If you think it is please stop reading my blog now - save yourself the heartache of dealing with my OG issues...
Happy Birthday Dave
I did one of those stupid online "karma" reports... I don't really believe in that stuff but I found this to be amusing:
North Node of the Moon in Scorpio
The concerns in your prior lives were for maintaining your traditional cultural and social values, not to mention your wealth. (I could see that...)
This lifetime, TOS, you have gone through several major personal changes, often upheavals, to get where you are today. (Damn skippy...)
In your past lives, you were completely self-sufficient when it came to providing for your material needs. This time you need to learn that inter-dependence has as much value as independence. (Good advice for me for sure - none of this crap is unique or special by any means but still some good lessons here...)
