A former blogoholic I have stopped the blog for now. I need to focus on teaching and living my life with my best Boo and pup! See you around the cybersphere!

Of divas and desis...

So I'm baaaaaaack. Crazy day ahead of me - out of work early and to class where I have my presentation... of course we may not get to it the professor said to one of my group members - GRRR we'd better I worked my butt of to get it done in time - at the expense of the book I was supposed to read. Oh well I will fudge it - I don't think he gives quizzes so I should be ok and will catch up this week.

So a quick weekend recap...

Friday night I flew up to LGA with Cookie and we cabbed over to our hotel - The Roosevelt - I was a little apprehensive b/c it was $276 pp for 2 nights, flight and taxes - WAY too cheap for NYC in general and actually and incredible bargain for staying right in the middle of everything - a block from Grand Central (sure you may not be going out in that neighborhood but your subway and taxi connections are plenty and convenient to pretty much any locale!)

After walking 16 blocks in the cold we ate at Cabana - the mojitos and ropa vieja were delicious! Then it was off to be Desilicious once again... The new wrinkle? They combined with Habibi so that upstairs was Middle Eastern and downstairs was Desi - it was AWESOME. See I love both kinds of music and it was a very different crowd and atmoshpere than what I am generally used to. Plus since I am happily taken by a certain Boo (whom I was very happy to see yesterday!) I don't have to worry about the single crowd and just dance and have a good time. Of course nobody thought I was the white boy that I actually am - I swear I have never had that kindof attention in regular clubs. People were all over me - I had one guy practically following me around all night long! Of course it did make me feel good - especially since I could smile sweetly and say "you're so sweet but I have a boyfriend" - felt good. Sometimes it is nice to be noticed especially when it reinforces how lucky one is. I know how lucky I am - that Boo is very special - I really can't believe I met him sometimes... (*sigh*)

The rest of the weekend was great. I got to visit with my oldest friend in the world - old in the sense that we have been friends for more than 16 years going through high school and college together. It was nice to re-connect in-person and not over the phone, email etc. He lives in the city and has a big job and works hard. One of the payoffs is the most gorgeous apts I've been to in Manhattan - in Union Square. Check out the sunny view of southern Manhattan and New Jersey in the distance...

Then yesterday the Boo kindly picked me and Cookie up at DCA. Of course I am going to write a scandalous letter to Delta - they charged us 50 bucks each to standby for an earlier flight - on the SHUTTLE - the Delta Shuttle - where I have probably NEVER flown on the flight I originally reserved on - where I used to even use US Airways Shuttle tickets without a fee! Something has changed in the rules apparently but I ain't buying it. I paid the fee b/c I was not about to sit in the Marine terminal for 6 hours. I will be lodging my complains with Delta and yes I will be getting that $100 back - trust me. The rest of the day flew by and I stayed at Boo's last night and made pasta with sausage and gravy (what we Italian-Americans call "spaghetti sauce" the distinction being that sauce (alla marinara sauce) has no meat in it while "gravy" does - whether it is correct or not, that is what we stubborn Italian-Americans call it!) and we watched the Dukes of Hazzard... really only to see my boy but I will say this (and don't say I told you so... I knew what I was getting into)

I am now stupider after having watched Jessica Simpson try, desperately I might add, to act!

Have a good day and week people!
