A former blogoholic I have stopped the blog for now. I need to focus on teaching and living my life with my best Boo and pup! See you around the cybersphere!

Get outta my way!

So here's a brief weekend recap... Friday was pretty good - I stole out of work at 4:26! :-) I hauled it home and decided I was far too white so I went to my favorite gay-owned tanning parlor - Sun on U - where I met a lovely little dog (belongs to one of the owners) named Bonnie... I must have sat and played with the lil girl for 20 minutes. I wish I could get a dog (sigh) maybe once school is done 3 years from now... so I did get a little color - not usually a problem for me - though I overdid it a little so I was a little tender in some areas.

Later that evening after a frightful dash of house cleaning I had my girl Topher over for her birthday! She and my girl Dagmar celebrated with some champers before Watusi came over and we all went out for a while. Trying to be current we though we would try a new venue - The Fab Lounge - with all due respect to the Fab Lounge - it was so not fabulous... the enormous silk flower arrangements were more funeral parlor than lounge... but I digress... and even though this place is up 2 sets of stairs it was decidely on "the down-low"... So we ended up at Halo and finally I got home and crawled into bed with my Boo.

Saturday was a lazy day. Went to Target and bought a bike! I've been wanting one for a while. I got a nice Schwinn for $119 - I don't want anything over the top or high performance (read: expensive and attractive for city thieves) since I will just ride it for fun on the weekends with the Boo and Mr. M - but also I will be riding to work! I biked over here today and it was only 15-20 minutes! It woke me up and was much quicker than Metro could ever be! I feel very Dutch now!!! They are bike maniacs - but hey they are eco-conscious and well their whole country is basically flat! So stay off the sidewalks and roads people - I'mma git'u! I need to get a bell like they use in Holland....

Oh yeah one more thing - Saturday night a very good friend, more like brother almost, got married to a lovely woman who is actually in med school here. It was a simple wedding but very nice indeed. I don't do weddings for political and personal (boooooooring) reasons but I made an exception for my friend whom we shall call Mr. Baseball. They looked so happy and in love - clearly a match made in heaven. He is a sweet wonderful guy and she is just a warm and wonderful woman. Both are so nice I indeed sucked up my pride and went to a Catholic church for their wedding (I don't do Catholic churches either!) and it was fine. I wish them all the best and thank them for inviting me - and oh yes, my hot studly date named Boo. It was my first wedding where I had a date and I was so proud to have him next to me. It wasn't weird (I hope) and I was very pleased and glad to have him there (plus it gave me someone to talk to!).

That's all for now! Great weekend save a few bumps here and there - and oh yeah the weather was PERFECT! Have a good day people!

Good for you. Putting your personal beliefs aside for your friend(s) is a good thing.

It's important for them for you to be there... so they can look at the pictures of you when they are getting a divorce.

Ooops. Sorry.

I agree on the weddings thing. We have almost completely stopped going to weddings too. My two heterosexual brothers have been married four times between them in the same amount of time that my Bald monkey I have been together. Sucks!

We did have a lot of fun at one of my brother's weddings though. During the first dance, the Monkey and I went out there and danced oh-so-close and sexy-like right in front of the uptight Catholic priest. He got so flustered, that he had to get up and leave real fast! :)
