A former blogoholic I have stopped the blog for now. I need to focus on teaching and living my life with my best Boo and pup! See you around the cybersphere!

What'd he say?

You know the Boo and I have been going to Gold's a fair amount... we often laugh at the random musical selections at the Glebe location. It is generally white-hat-frat-rock with a mix of bump-bump-booty jams... It is very amusing. One of our favorite songs (which I just heard on Frequence3 from France) is "Sugar we're going down" by ... Fallout Boy It's pretty catchy, a good workout song (and apparently Gold's agrees since it is on about once every 20 minutes)... but there is this one line that makes us giggle... and the fun starts because we both have our own interpretation of what the singer is actually saying...

What TOS hears:
We're going downtown in an earlier round
And Sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded goddess, cockhead and pull it

What Boo hears:
A loaded god complex, cockheaded bullet

Fallout Boy sez:
We're going down, down in an earlier round
And Sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded god complex, cock it and pull it

And there you have it... of course after a while Boo figured it out and told me. But I think I like my version better, his too, just has that little extra zing that sanitized radio lacks nowadays don't it?

Any other songs that need clarification? Sometimes you gotta wonder ;-)

Oh yeah there was one that I used to talk about before..."My Own Worst Enemy" by Lit lyrics:

Can we forget about the things I said
when I was drunk?
I didn't mean to call you fat
I can't remember what was said
or what you threw at me.

Turns out, "...call you fat..." is actually "...call you THAT..." but now I ask you - what fun is that?!

Okay, I've got a laundry list of songs/lyrics errors from myself and friends over the years. I won't share them all, but ...

Sheryl Crow's "Are You Strong Enough to be My Man:"

When I’ve shown you that I just don’t care
When I’m throwing punches in the air
When I’m broken down and I can’t stand
Will you be strong enough to be my man?

My friend Rob used to think that the second line was "when I'm throwing butt juice in the air." That's all I can hear now when I hear that song.

Oh, and Salt n' Pepa's "Push It" - my friend Keri though "Pick up on this" was "Pick up your dick"
