A former blogoholic I have stopped the blog for now. I need to focus on teaching and living my life with my best Boo and pup! See you around the cybersphere!

Gonna be another interesting day...

Point 1 - Working my ass off as you know; frustrated and tired of the BS @ work, as you know
Point 2 - Boss springs a "we need to go that reception @ 6 on Weds night so wear a jacket and tie" on me; I knew nothing about it, no invite, we never discussed it and I didn't want to go.
Point 3 - I said I thought I had plans. He said I could stop by for 5 minutes, didn't ask, just said it like I would
Point 4 - Told him on Tuesday I had a condo meeting (lie) and he said do what you have to do. Fine, done :)
Note: Turns out this reception is just a big free dinner for students and anyone else who shows up, I was told by others in power that I wouldn't be missed and it was lame for him to be browbeating me about it. He just didn't want to go.
Point 5: I went in at 8:30am yesterday so I could be there to get some things from his car trunk while he was on his way to a meeting. I as good soldier was there as promised.
Point 6: Had another wonderful day where I was forced to do everyone else's job even though I pushed back, dug my heels in and tried to do only what I was really supposed to do. It was exhausting.
Point 7: At 5:30 I left, he made some smartass remark about me "abandoning him" and I smiled and went to the gym with Boo - what I wanted to do.
Point 8: Of course, even though we walked a different way back to the parking garage, he walked past us with another professor and a student (at 6:45P mind you, not "right at 6") and yelled "The party's that way..." to which I just smiled (though surprised) yelled back "We're going to the parking garage, see you tomorrow" [we were in gym clothes]
Point 9: I spent the next hour frothing at the mouth while Boo patiently listened.
Point 10: I have to figure out what to say to him if he confronts me. Though basically I am going to tell him that I already told him I had plans and regardless of what those were, it was after work and it isn't right for him to be mad at me or hold it over my head. I hope he doesn't want to get into the ring and go a couple rounds because he will lose... In a way this is good b/c it precipitates the "I am not happy with my job" talk and will hopefully illustrate to him that he cannot expect make-up for every single other person in the dept who doesn't even meet basic expectations... I'm the frigging office manager who makes the salary of a public school teacher - ummmmm hello McFly! I am there to punch the clock and that is it!

Serenity now! What did I do to deserve this?!?! Why is being a good employee a punishable offense?! If I was a slacker like everyone else I would be on easy st!

BUT THE GOOD NEWS - I passed my other standardized test and score in the 90th percentile?!?!?!?!?!!? :-)

Now that makes me happy! Have a good day people. Prolly some more jock pics for cheerup later!

He is trying to get under your skin and succeeding. Keep doing what you want and if he confronts you simply inform him that in an effort to "organized" you keep a calendar and if he does not send you an invite you cannot attend. Or lie - lie - lie! F-him! BTW - I do love that you and boo went to work out! If I was your boss I would have used the passive aggressive apporach with you too! :)

Excellent ideas from both of you... I don't have a problem with lying... course getting caught LOL. He hasn't said anything yet today - but I'm glad it happened. He needs to realize I'm not his bit*h even though I'm a nice guy... Don't get me wrong, I don't think my boss is trying to be pissy or mean, I think he's just being overly needy and controlling - but too bad, that is what he has a wife for! :-P

Mikey - I'm headed that way... though I will still have to have a boss when I am a teacher, at least I'll be union...
