Help?! My iPod choked me and I can't get up!
Ok so I fibbed a little, I don't have an iPod yet... I want one badly but I'm poor as hell right now and have to save as much money for school since I'm quitting my job to go fulltime in August (as long as I get into the special fellowship program *folds hands in prayer*). But besides the sassy chic look and huge storage capacity I want an iPod b/c my little mp3 player nearly strangled me on the way to work yesterday... There is nothing better than walking along listening to your music and then you feel a buzz in your pocket (not that kind people... it was my phone!) only to make a spectacle of yourself... I almost took out a pair of lost tourists as I pulled the phone from my pcoket, pulled the mp3 player out of the case on my arm, pressed stop, then removed one of the 2 earphones I had on... Removing two would be a pain b/c I didn't feel like talking for long but only taking one out made matters worse by entangling itself on my phone's antenna... Long story short, it was about 96 degrees, I was tangled in cords, sweating and I missed the friggin' call in the process. So it seems the answer to my prayers lies in two things and iPod and these nifty wireless headphones... And they are CHEAP! Checkem out:
Logitech Wireless Headphones for iPod and iPod Mini with $50 MIR
My friends at J&R also have them for a little bit more, but their shipping is less if you want it faster than the Super Saver speed at Amazon...
$49.99 after MIR - LOGITECH Wireless Headphones for iPod and iPod mini 980397-0403(exp 7-05-06)
Just think about it... no more cords and no more risky of a choking death on the street or the treadmill!!! It is about time technology did something good for us right???
But of course if you are like me and don't have an iPod you can get a great deal from the Apple Store
Apple Certified iPod nano 2 GB, only $169, while supplies last. Qualifies for free ground shipping.
Of course if you are a student, staff or faculty at an eligible college or school you may qualify for the Apple Student Discount
Of course if you decide to buy any of these items, won't you be kind and click on my link before you do so? I hate to put little commercial posts in here everyone in a while but I'm really in a cash crunch these days (which would explain why I've been missing from Halo, restaurants and pretty much any place that sucks up money...) so if you find a good deal you like gimme a click, it really helps and I do appreciate it! I also am working on (as quickly as time allows) getting my Shopping for Wanderlust blog up and running again... Thanks people!
(p.s the choking incident is a sad but true story... I fear I can't walk down that part of New Hampshire Ave for a while without being mortified...)

What do you think of the Ipod Shuffle?

I think the iPod shuffle 512MB or 1GBcould be a good choice for people who don't need to have their entire collection with them at all times... It is about as small and light as I think these things can really be (but then again I've been pleasantly surprised by technology before so who knows?) I'm probably one of those people actually - I tend to get involved in very "current" music, wear it out and then never listen to it again... my mp3 player now is good b/c of that reason but it lack the smoothness and ease of use that iTunes brings with iPods...
The screen on the Nanos and up is a nice option, but if your needs are very simple, it is one less thing to weigh it down.
Simple answer, I think any of the iPods are better than most of the alternatives, but that is just my $.02 - Thanks for your comment :-)

Thanks! I am still undecided, but at least now I can make an informed decision.
