The Sound of San Francisco
Added to the Tales of the City watching I am currently hooked on this cheesy song by Global Deejays: the Sound of San Francisco... It has that old song about "If you're going to San Francisco, you've got to wear some flowers in your hair..."
It's cheesy but for some reason I like it (I always like that old song)...
Check it out:

That old song is called "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)"
It was sung by Scott Mackenzie at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 and was the only song he ever recorded. It was written, however, by John Phillips of the Mammas and the Pappas.
And there's your but of rock n roll history for the day.

I thought it was related to the Mammas and Pappas for some reason - good history lesson!
