SteamWorks Washington DC
Noooooo silly, they are not opening a SteamWorks in DC... Got your attention though didn't I... We don't need it - it is already 68 degrees outside and 88% humidity... The gorgeous spring weather we've been having (which seemed to last longer than most years thankfully) seems to be departing... and the steamy, hot and humid weather is returning for a DC summer.Don't get me wrong, DC is a great town... but in summer - wheeeeew, I don't know how I still deal with it after all these years. I'm from Boston and Cape Cod - where you get humidity maybe twice a year - and it's usually raining :-P
I'm going to a doc's appt this morning, then to work for a bit.... But my boss is off and I figure I'll just do a couple quick things and get the hell outta there by noon... and then it is time to start the weekend of doing nothing but relaxing!
Whether you're traveling or lounging at home, just be safe and happy! Have fun!

Hmm. My memories of Boston involve summers of debilitating humidity. And horrible rainy falls. Then two feet of snow during the winter. And then about two weeks of spring before the humidity set back in. God, I just hate the weather in Boston.

Don't get me all excited! I've heard so much about SteamWorks :) Hell - I'd never be able to make it through the door w/o having a heart attack. Let alone some DC bitch see you and call you out while your at the ballet.

Love that DC summer heat and humidity! The sun beating down, the smell of body odor on the Metro, the sight of tourists melting. Gotta love it.

Awww Ted! Now I'll cop to the horrible winters (why do you think I live down "south" - as much as I hate the humidity I hate the cold more!) and the rainy fall (some years) and even the "seems to almost never get here" spring... but the "humidity" we complain about in Boston is laughable!
But I can see why you would think that - compared to La Jolla, the weather anywhere would seem oppressive, no? ;-)
