A former blogoholic I have stopped the blog for now. I need to focus on teaching and living my life with my best Boo and pup! See you around the cybersphere!

Back from NJ

Well hi all. I am baaaaaaaack. Was up in NJ for the weekend meeting Boo's parents and family. It was the first time I'd met them and it went great. I felt very welcome and was received very warmly. It really made me feel good. They are a very close family and a big part of his life so it was really an honor to be so included and welcome. We spent the majority of the weekend in their pool (so awesome to have a pool in the backyard!) but I did get a nice tour of Long Beach Island which is close to his house. All in all a great weekend, even the traffic cooperated nicely (save a 30 minute backup in Delaware, but what else is new - the roads in that state suck! expensive too)

So I am back at the grind today at work. It is weird since I haven't worked on a Monday since May. I'm kindof over it but I only really have two weeks left anyhow! My class starts on August 7th so the next weekend trip will be to my beloved Cape Cod to visit my mama and introduce Boo to my much smaller family (he has 3 siblings, brother-in-laws, zillions of cousins etc) we are only 4 people in the world total, with only really 5 people in our extended family. So hopefully he will have as good of a time as I did.

Hope everyone is doing well on this sunny Monday!

And oh yes - I did get to go to ShopRite several times... for those that know me I am obsessed with supermarkets for some reason... ShopRite (and Super ShopRite!) is just awesome, I wish we had them in DC instead of those ghetto Giants but I digress...

i have a thing for grocery stores, too. i don't know why, but i always have. i guess i like to look at their layouts, graphics, and other things that make each store subtley unique. when i went to argentina one of the things that i was looking forward to most was the friggin' GROCERY STORE if you can believe it. just to see how things are different there. BTW, one of their big chains is called "Disco" which cracked me up.

I'm glad things went well on your trip!

I also feel the need to visit grocery stores (and cemeteries) when out of town. However as a word of warning, some of the Midwestern stores have vast aisles displaying row after row of the dreaded pickle!

I love grocery stores too. I love the giant ones in the Southwest, beer sections, and tortilla factories.

I hate the little gross ones in NYC.
