I hate cable companies....

It is 5:20... I have been sitting at home since 1:30 waiting for my 2 - 5 appointment window. OF COURSE nobody has shown up yet and OF COURSE I call the 800 # promptly at 5:00 to see where the guy is and the customer service center is CLOSED! So now I am on hold to get to tech support which is the only thing open.

BUT WAIT! There's more! They are experiencing heavier than usual call volume (which seems to the be case anytime I call) and my estimated wait time is 22 minutes.

I am just fiery right now... (*&#^%@&^

In case you are following along (LOL) I waited on hold for Tech Support for 25 minutes. I did get a pleasant rep who is paging dispatch for me. They are allegedly going to call me to give me a status and further instructions.

This is ridiculous! But fear not - I will be getting some sort of compensation for my trouble and inconvenience. I've already sent my initial complaint to the DC Gov't Office of Telecom and Cable. ;-) RCN picked the wrong consumer to screw with...

Get DirecTV. They're always on time, I've never been put on hold for longer than 5 minutes, and the signal has never once given out. Meanwhile, when I had cable, I would have outages that lasted from two hours to three days. Cable sucks.

I wish I could... I live in a condo and don't have a balcony nor a southwestern exposure...

The good news... they finally came at 7:30... still I will be getting some compensation...

when i started reading this i instantly thought "comcast" and was surprised to see "RCN" ... i didn't have any problem with them when they came to install my cable. oh well, i guess even a broken clock is right twice a day.
