A former blogoholic I have stopped the blog for now. I need to focus on teaching and living my life with my best Boo and pup! See you around the cybersphere!

School Daze....

Well you may have noticed I have been absent the last couple of days... Well school has been kicking my butt - but I am loving it! I LOVE my colleagues (especially the ones who are my age!) and my dept chair (we're workout buddies now and he's the prolly coolest real str8 guy I know!) It's like being part of a fun college dorm when we aren't teaching. Plus everyone works really hard and looks out for the kids even when they don't have to. All those people with bad images of teachers need to come to my school! (And while it is a nice school it is not super-affluent or ritzy)

I am pretty exhausted - getting used to the 5:20am wake-ups and then teaching all day, class in the evening and then getting home at 9 something only in time for food and bed - well it's tough and it will get even tougher. I've been lucky since class just started and I haven't had homework yet. That party is now over - I've had two classes out of the total three and I already have 16 papers in the next 12 weeks. Eeek.

I don't know where or how I can do it but I will say this...

I have some kids in my class who not only A) don't speak English B) just got here a month ago and are in severe culture shock C) have to deal with intense peer pressure and to further complicate things D) never had formal schooling in their own countries/languages and even E) can't really read or write...

If they can smile and muck through things then...

So can I :-)
