So I'm still a bad blogger...

what else is new... (I'm tired too - oooooh...) LOL

But good news:

1) My 1st student teaching observation went INCREDIBLY well! I got really no negative or constructive feedback - she said it was like I'd been teaching for a good couple of years already :-)

2) When a boy farted (by accident I think) I thought it was all over and they were going to go crazy... but... they didn't!!! A couple of giggles and a quick "Keep working on your notebook" and it went as quickly as the wind... literally LOL

3) One of my challenging students actually volunteered to sing, in Spanish, in front of the whole class! And he had no idea there were 2 people in the back observing us until AFTER he sang!!! :-)

4) During the warm-up, the room was as quiet as a tomb as the kids actually did the assignment, individually and without the usual outbursts associated with teaching the period before they get to go home! :-)

So that was my good day. Class was long and tiring tonight... But oh yeah one last bit of good news...

5) I was informally offered a PAID part-time teaching job at my school while I do my internship! This conveys real money and benefits! One downside, I may have to re-pay part of my scholarship depending on the timing... but I'll still graduate on time and be 1st in line for a full-time job come June!!! Did I mention real money and benefits!!!??? I am working out the deets and hope to know more soon.

6) What was REALLY cool is that I was told by my advisor that this happens every year and is fairly routine but it NEVER happens in Octobor and it is even more rare for it to be a non-math or science teacher. I'm blushing!!! :-)
