A former blogoholic I have stopped the blog for now. I need to focus on teaching and living my life with my best Boo and pup! See you around the cybersphere!

The end is near... sortof

Hi again, remember me? Probably not since I've been living like a hermit lately. I won't bore you with the specifics but start the countdown until the end of the semester (grad school - not my teaching in public school - that's a whole different countdown!) I've been off yesterday and today trying to study for 2 standardized tests. I suck at these and am so worried I will fail tomorrow's since I haven't studied one bit - who the hell has time?! I have been working in overdrive pretty much since we got back from vacation. It has been pure, unadulterated hell. I'm exhausted (what else is new) BUT

By Weds evening I will be done with 2 nasty standardized tests, the class that I hate, and will have just a few things left to do to finish out the semester. Then I can hopefully breathe for about 2 weeks until it all starts up again. At least my teaching ends on June 18th - and thus the 5am wake-up calls!!! The other good news is that one of the classes is ONLINE so I can do it at home naked (Bubala would be proud ;-) or anywhere there is internet and all that good stuff.

Anyhoo I'm hoping to come back to the blogosphere I miss carousing and chatting with all my buds! Hope all is well and that the rains have brought down your pollen levels too - woo hoo!

Oh yeah - one other huge piece of news... She is not a beagle (her only failing, but an overlookable one) but Boo and I are trying to adopt a GORGEOUS 50 lb reddish Lab named Shelly. She's 5 years old, full-grown and already somewhat trained (everytime I visit I can get her to sit, stay, and shake without any effort!) and well, she acts like a beagle so... we're hoping to get her soon!!! She totally melted my heart when I saw her months ago and we saw her again last weekend and she did it all over again. Boo had a BEAUTIFUL yellow Lab named Hunter in his childhood and you can tell how much he misses him (RIP). I don't know who is more smitten with Shelly, him or me. She's just so unfailingly adorable and has the softest fur of any dog I've ever petted (not typical lab fur, it's like silky, she's some sort of mix) and well I just want her.

So fingers crossed for us please, the adoption process at the WARL is very, very rigorous (good for the dogs so it's ok) and we're waiting for our interview and home inspection. I'm going to visit her later, it would be so much easier to sit here and study with a fuzzy face at my side!

Oh and I WILL be getting a beagle the moment we move to a bigger place, this just makes me love them even more!

TOS, you are quite a busy guy. I really don't envy you, but you will do well with the exams. Thanks for writing a very heart felt comment on my blog. It is a scary world. But the little things, like the love of an animal or a dear friend and lover, makes it a better place, a place where we can cope. Big hairy muscle hugs of support. You will ace them.
