While I never could afford to buy anything in her store, I really enjoyed browsing there. Beyond that tiny connection, I always admired her zeal for life and support of the gay community (seen in the local gay papers mostly). Moreover, she was one of the vanguard shopkeeps who took a chance on 14th street way back before it was hip, cool, or condo. Her story is pretty interesting too.
